Sometimes because of pride or ego or a mistaken idea, one person may not confide in another or tell them the whole truth. Have you ever been in a situation in which you didn’t want the other person to know something about you? You had something you wanted to keep secret? How did you act? Did the other person realize you were hiding something? How did your behavior change the way they acted toward you?

Well sometimes i hide things from people just because i dont want to do that with them so i tell them i cant or i have different plans just so i dont have to go and do that with them, but most of the time the person i told that to just always figured out that thats not why i couldnt go do what they were doing with them. And i didnt not want to g owith them just because it was something bad they were doing just because i wasnt in the mood to do that with them. And usualy when this situation comes up i act very mysterious and they would always bug me about it and ask me all the time why i couldnt come and the excuse was the same excuse i always use its either i can or i have to baby sit.

It seems like reading Edgar Allan Poe stories around Halloween is a rite of passage for students in English classes. He wrote poems such as "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee" and stories like "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat", "The Fall of the House of Usher", "The Cask of Amontillado", "The Masque of the Red Death", "The Pit and the Pendulum", etc.
If you have read Poe stories before, which ones have you read and what do you remember of them? Did you like them? How scary/creepy were they? Share your memories of you or teachers reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
If you have not read Poe or don't remember, describe to me what you expect from a classic horror writer? What kinds of stories do you think we'll be reading? Have you ever read scary stories?

Well i have never read any poe stories or never plan on reading them, but if i ever have a chance to read them i would expect it to be scary lots of mystery deaths and it would be pretty fun to read. i think we will be reading poems or a scary book just because it is close to halloween. And yes i have read scary stories before but i wouldn't really rate them scary they were more intermediate than they were scary but for the most part i guess i enjoyed them.

8th AND 9th grade:
If you had one superpower, what would it be and why? (Hint: describe exactly what your power would be, why you would want that one, what you would use your power for, etc. Would you be good or evil? Would you use it just for fun or for a good cause?)

If i had a supper power i think it would be to fly. Flying becuase it would be a cool supper power so i could fly through the air and save peoples lifes that are in danger, and just to fly for fun becuase it would be cool. If i were a superhero i would be a good supper hero becuase, i wouldnt want to be a bad one then every one would hate me beccuase i do bad things not good.

9th Grade: What comes to your mind when you hear the words, "Now we're going to read Shakespeare!" Do you cringe in fear? Do you giggle with glee? What past experiences have you had with Shakespeare to make you react the way you do?

Well when shake spear comes to my mind i think, uh just another book i have to read for english who cares.

well i am not so happy about reading it, if i get a grade for it i would rather read it then not and fail the class. well i have had no experience with shake spear i dont read that kind of books and am not intrested in them.
